The Problem: LKQ Corporation is a global leader in the distribution of alternative and specialty auto parts, managing a workforce of 46,000 employees globally. They faced severe challenges managing training across 26 languages. Their previous LMS required an arduous, 58-step manual process to update a single course, causing unacceptable downtime. Furthermore, updating courses broke the QR code URLs that frontline workers relied on, creating a confusing user experience. Reporting was also fragmented due to duplicated multi-language courses, leaving the business without clear compliance insights.

The Solution: To solve these systemic issues, LKQ implemented Rustici Software’s Content Controller as a centralized hub. By utilizing the Equivalents feature, LKQ successfully bundled all course language versions into a single package, enabling a single course title for administration. They then exported lightweight proxy files from Content Controller directly into their destination LMS.

The Result: The results were transformative. LKQ eliminated the grueling 58-step update process, replacing it with a simple four-step process that updates courses instantaneously with zero downtime. Learner links and QR codes are now permanent, vastly improving trust and accessibility. LKQ also established accurate data for compliance tracking and saved the equivalent cost of two full-time employees’ yearly salaries. The centralized system even allowed them to seamlessly migrate to a brand new LMS in 2023, scaling their program to an additional 30,000 learners.
