The Problem: LOMA is a highly respected association providing professional development and education to the global insurance and financial services industries. They developed “Industry Advantage,” a new subscription program featuring over 200 short micro-learning courses. Initially planning to build a proprietary delivery platform, LOMA encountered intense resistance from member companies who vehemently refused to log into another external system, demanding access directly within their corporate LMSs or LXPs. LOMA needed a flexible solution to deliver content to varied systems, manage subscriptions, and track data without forcing members out of their native environments.
The Solution: LOMA implemented Content Controller to completely pivot their delivery strategy. Instead of building a new platform, Content Controller acted as a centralized hub for their micro-learning library. LOMA generated lightweight proxy files in members’ chosen eLearning standards (such as xAPI or SCORM) and distributed them directly into respective LMS or LXP environments. They also utilized Content Controller’s built-in licensing management to securely automate and enforce their new subscription model.
The Result: The pivot was highly successful, earning LOMA a gold award for Best Association Professional Development Program. Meeting members where they were vastly increased content reach and saved significant custom platform developer costs. Members only had to upload a course once, with ongoing updates taking effect automatically. The program achieved over 6,600 course completions in the first six months with a 99 percent rating for learning effectiveness, seamlessly governing access based on specific subscription agreements.
LOMA’s core business challenge was to deliver flexible, bite-sized training content to members without requiring a new platform, instead integrating seamlessly into each organization’s existing LMS while supporting a scalable subscription model.
