Since its founding in 1963, the Ontario Dental Hygienists’ Association (ODHA) has been dedicated to the advancement of both the practice and profession of dental hygiene in Ontario. Dental hygienists are one of the largest regulated health professions in Canada. Representing the needs and interests of more than 8,000 dental hygienists, ODHA is the collective voice of its members on a number of oral and overall health-related topics in Ontario.
ODHA needed to evolve along with the dental hygiene field, overall technological advances, and changing membership needs. To continuously meet these objectives, ODHA needed a Learning Management System (LMS) that allowed the association to enhance its professional development offerings, align with the association’s goals, and integrate with all its technology platforms, including its Association Management System (AMS).
Vocalmeet provided ODHA with an LMS tailored to the association’s needs and integrated with its current AMS. This system integration offers more value for members and appeals to a younger audience as well. The LMS enhances the professional development experience for members and improves the existing revenue channels for ODHA, while supporting many of the association’s daily tasks.
By monetizing eLearning courses and certificates with Vocalmeet’s LMS, ODHA expanded upon its existing revenue channels. With the LMS in place, ODHA was free to set up an advanced online marketplace and provide members with up-to-date industry information, courses, and credentials.
Vocalmeet also established ways to keep costs down. The LMS is scalable, allowing ODHA to increase revenue opportunities without the large physical overhead required for in-person courses or an entire team of administrators or instructors managing the system behind the scenes. The system also automates many daily eLearning responsibilities, such as student tracking and program analysis, which minimizes staffing demands.
By incorporating mobile usage into its online system, ODHA has already seen 40% more traffic. Vocalmeet’s LMS and its full mobile support allow members to access their courses at any time and from anywhere.
ODHA needed a Learning Management System (LMS) that would enhance its professional development offerings, align with the association’s goals, and integrate with all its technology platforms, including its Association Management System (AMS).
