
The Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) advances the research, knowledge, and application of psychology in the service of society through advocacy, support, and collaboration. Prior to working with Vocalmeet, CPA mainly offered in-person continuing education courses and wanted to expand its course offerings online. It was critical that the vendor understood the different continuing education requirements, as each course involved multiple complex activities. The platform also needed a flexible eCommerce system that could support four pricing levels: member, non-member, student affiliate, and student non-affiliate. It also needed to support three purchase types: single, group, and licence-based purchases. Just as importantly, the platform had to be easy for both staff and members to navigate.
CPA selected Vocalmeet’s continuing education platform, course development, and audiovisual services. Vocalmeet’s continuing education platform became the hub for CPA’s online courses. From a single platform, the association is able to provide on-demand and live continuing education courses, process purchases, and issue certificates.
Vocalmeet’s course development team reviews each course against CPA’s standards before the courses are made available for purchase. Knowledge reinforcement hurdles, quizzes, and mandatory downloads of transcripts are included in the courses. This helps to ensure that each learner is actively participating.
CPA also conducts in-person continuing education sessions that are filmed by Vocalmeet’s audiovisual team. In post-production, PowerPoint slides are synced to the video in order to provide context. The finished product is made available for purchase as an on-demand continuing education course.
Working with a dedicated project manager at Vocalmeet, CPA is able to focus solely on delivering value to its members. Vocalmeet’s project managers handle the daily operation of the continuing education platform, including course development, technical support, and marketing. CPA has substantially increased the number of online continuing education courses it offers and can provide on-demand courses and live events from a single secure platform.
