In this case study, Microsoft collaborated with BrainStorm to enhance the adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot among enterprise clients. Recognizing that many organizations struggled to realize the full value of Copilot—an AI-powered productivity tool requiring separate licensing—Microsoft funded BrainStorm’s adoption program for 73 customers with below-average usage rates.
BrainStorm implemented two targeted content packs: “Preflight for M365 Copilot,” which optimized users’ proficiency with foundational tools like OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint, and “M365 Copilot Starter,” which guided users on effectively utilizing Copilot, including crafting prompts and leveraging its outputs. These resources were delivered through BrainStorm’s adaptive training platform, featuring personalized learning paths, automated communications, and actionable insights.
The initiative yielded significant results: a sustained 50% average increase in monthly active users within 6–8 weeks and the addition of 56,557 new Copilot licenses across participating accounts. This case underscores the effectiveness of structured, scalable training in driving user engagement and maximizing the value of AI tools in enterprise settings.
Microsoft faced the challenge of low adoption and underutilization of Microsoft 365 Copilot among enterprise customers despite growing license investments.
