Better than click-next.
Digital Intellective is a one-person studio for online learning. I design and code the learner-facing side of academies, and I build the eLearning that goes inside them. After fifteen years in the field, I’ve settled on one rule for every project: you see real work early and often, so you’re never left guessing what you’ll end up with. The first lesson before the rest. Two design directions before a line of code. Every page live in your platform as it’s finished, ready for your approval or your edits.
WHAT I DO
eLearning Development. Courses, microlearning, interactive job aids and gamified experiences, designed from your content rather than poured into a template, and built either in the Articulate suite or natively in your LMS, whichever serves the content best. I read every word you send, then shape it around what the learner needs to think, feel and do.
Front-End Design and Coding. Homepages, dashboards, landing pages, purchase pages and catalogs for online academies. I design them and I code them, which means no handoff, no “the developer couldn’t do that,” and no surprises on mobile after launch. Everything I build meets WCAG 2.1 AA, and your team can update it afterward without touching code.
Thought Industries. I’ve worked in the platform every day for the last twelve years. If your academy runs on it, I know it well enough to make it do what you need, and probably a few things you didn’t know it could. On a different LMS? I build there too.
WHO I WORK WITH
Teams that take their learning business seriously and are missing one set of hands: instructional designers with no one to make the LMS look like it belongs to the brand, or content experts with no one to turn that content into engaging eLearning. I’ve built for nonprofits, associations, travel brands, healthcare teams, university alumni programs, and more. Compliance click-throughs, software customer education, and agency subcontracting aren’t the right fit for me, and I’d rather say so up front.
WHY CLIENTS STAY
The people who’ve hired me tend to describe the same things: someone who folds into their team rather than working beside it, who understands the business goal before the design brief, and who delivers what was promised and then some. They mention speed, follow-through, and a habit of reading between the lines when a request isn’t fully formed yet. Most clients who sign with me don’t leave; some from my first year are still with me today. One called me a CSS wizard, which I’ll happily take.

Critical Differentiation
Built for the learner's time, not the seat time
Even when a course is aimed at one audience, no two learners in it are the same. Each person shows up with a different situation, a different challenge, and a different reason for being there. Most eLearning is built as if they were identical: one wall of text for everyone, one set of examples whether or not any apply, and interactions placed where a framework says an interaction should go instead of where a learner needs one.
I build your content for the person on the other side of the screen. From the opening, the learner knows plainly and realistically what this course will do for them, with no marketing gloss. Everyone follows one clear narrative, and along the way each learner can pull in the examples, scenarios, and detail that apply to them and skip the ones that don't. The scenarios are situations they actually face, not ones that would never happen. The interactions exist because they do something for the learner, not because a page looked too quiet. None of this requires a bigger budget or a longer build; it's how I structure what you already have. The result is a learner who participates instead of watches, taking the version of the course that fits them.
The content decides the form
A lot of eLearning gets poured into the same shape no matter what's in it, and learners recognize the pattern by lesson two. I start from your content instead and let it decide what the page needs. Sometimes that's a plain page of well-written text. Sometimes it's a video, an interaction, or a scenario, but each one has to earn its place by teaching something the simpler version couldn't. And sometimes the right move is patient, like asking a learner a question in lesson one, taking the answer away, and handing it back five lessons later so they can see how far their own thinking has moved.
Brand cohesion, all the way down
Everything I build, whether it's a course or the LMS around it, is cohesive with your brand. Fonts and colors are just the start; I match your overall style, so your LMS looks like it came from the same company as your corporate site, and your courses look like they belong in that LMS. If your academy doesn't have a design system yet, I can help you build one. For learners, that means continuity from the first page to the last lesson, and the trust that comes with it. For you, it means one look everywhere without doing the work internally or managing two vendors.
